Renowned Odisha Cartoonist Kishore Rath Passes Away At The Age Of 58
Bhubaneswar: On Monday morning, renowned cartoonist Kishore Rath died at the Capital Hospital in Delhi. He was 58 years old at the time.
Rath was brought to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing. He passed away after suffering a heart attack.
Rath was well-known in Odisha for his satirical cartoon column 'Katakhya,' which appeared in the prominent Odia newspaper 'Sambad.'
Rath, who was born in 1963, has been with 'Sambad' since the late 1980s. He was a Fine Arts graduate of Khallikote Arts College.
Rath's death has been mourned with sadness by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman of the Sambad Group.
"I am grieved to read of the passing of famous cartoonist Kishore Rath," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted, expressing his condolences. He will be known for his distinctive manner of using cartoons to illustrate diverse social concerns."
Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education and Skill Development, also offered his sympathies on Rath's death.
