IMD: Jawad to weaken in next 12 hours
Bhubaneswar: By the time it approaches Puri on December 5, Cyclone Jawad is expected to diminish into a Deep Depression, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
He expects Cyclone Jawad to weaken more and move north-northeastwards along the Odisha coast, eventually reaching the West Bengal shore.
Moving at 6 kmph, Cyclone Jawad on Saturday lay centered over the Bay of Bengal about 230 km from Visakhapatnam, 340 km from Gopalpur, 410 km from Puri and 490 km from Paradip, according to the latest bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 am today.
