Odisha effects major reshuffle, Vishal Dev appointed Finance Secretary
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government made a slight reshuffle in the top IAS cadre on Thursday.
Vishal Dev, a 1996 batch officer and Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, has been promoted to Principal Secretary, Finance, according to a General Administration and Public Grievance notification.
Dev will succeed Ashok Meena, a 1993-batch officer who has been assigned to the position of Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water.
Deoranjan Kumar Singh, a 1993-batch officer and Principal Secretary of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, will also take over as Principal Secretary, Steel and Mines.
Surendra Kumar, a 1993-batch officer, has been promoted to Principal Secretary, General Administration and Public Grievance, with the additional responsibility of Tourism.
Aside from that, R Vineel Krishna, a 2005-batch officer who is also the Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been given additional responsibility for Sports and Youth Services.
