Girl dies mysteriously in Chhatrapur residential school
Berhampur: On Sunday, a minor student from Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls' School died in the dormitory at Chhatrapur in Odisha's Ganjam, and her parents blamed the educational institution's administration.
Rosa Behera, according to sources, was staying at the hostel. She became ill unexpectedly around 4 a.m. on Sunday.
The warden initially gave her a medication, but when she vomited multiple times, authorities took her to Chhatrapur Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her parents arrived at the hospital after learning about the situation and accused the dormitory management of incompetence. They questioned the authorities about how long it took her to a neighbouring hospital.
After learning about the occurrence, District Education Officer Binita Senapati attended on the scene and presented Rosa's family with Rs 10,000 from the Guru Kalyan Student Fund.
Meanwhile, the body was submitted for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
