Firefighter allegedly commits suicide in Ganjam

Ganjam: On Tuesday, a fire department employee allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Ganjam district's forest.
The man, named as Dayanidhi Mahanta of Keonjhar, was working at the Aska fire station, according to sources. Budhakendu locals of Bhanjanagar block discovered him hanging in the forest near the village. A Fire Brigade vehicle was also parked nearby on the road.
After being notified, a team from the Gangapur police station and employees from the Bhanjanagr fire station arrived on the scene and began an inquiry. The deceased was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Dayanidhi's pocket was reportedly discovered with a note stating that he was stressed because he had been denied leave by higher officials in the department.
