Cuttack: CT & GST Additional Commissioner under Vigilance scanner over DA charge
Cuttack: In connection with allegations that Piyush Kanta Pani, Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Tax & GST (Cuttack), had amassed disproportionate assets, Odisha Vigilance conducted raids on his houses on Monday. They turned up assets worth crores and six expensive cars.
The following resources have so far been found via searches:
* 11 prime Bhubaneswar plots valued at (roughly) Rs 3.7 crore according to recorded selling deeds. Suspected undervaluation at registration; true worth might be higher. To confirm this, a full investigation is being conducted.
* One residential building in Chakeisihani, Bhubaneswar, with three stories.
* At Chorda Chowk, Jajpur Road, Jajpur, there are three buildings with three stories and one building with one story.
* A farm house in Andharua, Bhubaneswar, with an outhouse.
Chakeisihani, Bhubaneswar, has a garage and a one-story building.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is in charge of measuring, valuing, and assessing the buildings.
* 53.63 lakh rupees in deposits with banks and insurance.
Six costly four-wheelers:
Skoda Octavia (OR02-AG-8888) worth Rs 11,29,970.
Volkswagen Taigun (OD02-CA-8926) worth Rs 15,00,000.
Volkswagen Polo (OR02-BK-6000) worth Rs 8,50,000.
Skoda Fabia (OR05-AC-9797) worth Rs 9,00,000.
Skoda Superb (OD02-V-6357) worth Rs 10,50,000.
Skoda Ameo (OD02-BH-7002) worth Rs 7,25,410.
* Gold jewellery weighing 387 gm.
Pani is being questioned on the places he got the assets.
