CM Naveen to visit Delhi to attend Presidential oath ceremony
Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, chatted with Droupadi Murmu, the president-elect of India and a "Daughter of Odisha."
On July 25, the Chief Minister is expected to be present at Droupadi's oath-taking ceremony in New Delhi. On Saturday night, Naveen will go on a four-day tour to New Delhi. He will return to the state on July 26.
Naveen wished Droupadi well on behalf of the people of Odisha and expressed their pride in her accomplishment.
On Thursday, Droupadi defeated Yashwant Sinha of the opposition with 5,77,777 votes to become the 15th President of India.
On July 24, Ram Nath Kovind's term as the 14th President comes to an end.
In the presidential elections, the BJD had declared their support for Droupadi, a candidate for the NDA.
