Large Amount Of Duplicate IMFL Was Seized, 2 Arrested

Nuapada: On Friday in Odisha's Nuapada, excise officers recovered a sizable quantity of counterfeit India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and detained two people in this connection.

Excise SP Sanghamitra Pradhan instructed the officials to conduct a raid after receiving reliable information regarding a bogus IMFL manufacturing facility near Ergisson Square, which is within the jurisdiction of the Dharambandha police. The unit was raided by a mobile squad under the direction of Excise Inspector Harabati Thati.

Thati told reporters that during the raid, "22 litres of counterfeit IMFL, 400 empty bottles and caps of reputable brands, components for making liquor, and incriminating documents were all taken from the location. Additionally, the squad detained two members of the group.

The two people who had been detained—Mithilesh Bihar's Kumar and Jharkhand's Birendra Gupta—were sent to court. Additional research is being done.
