CM Naveen Patnaik virtually distributes BSKY smart health cards in Rayagada

Rayagada: Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, started the distribution of smart health cards under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana on Tuesday (BSKY).
The Chief Minister inaugurated BSKY card distribution in a virtual way and committed Rs 870 crore to different development initiatives in the area.
Naveen said in a video message that the BSKY card will assist 8.3 lakh people in the district.
He praised self-help groups, saying Mission Shakti had helped 4,000 women by providing them with a source of income.
On Independence Day, the Chief Minister declared that under BSKY, 3.5 crore people from 96 lakh families in the state would receive smart health cards. Each household is eligible for treatment costs of up to Rs 5 lakh per year. This benefit is available to women members up to Rs 10 lakh per year.
According to Naveen, Odisha is the first state in the country to provide such services in the health sector. This card will be distributed to all beneficiaries in stages.
This card will be given to recipients of the National and State Food Security Schemes, as well as Annapurna and Antodaya beneficiaries. Health services are available to beneficiaries in more than 200 hospital chains across the country, including in Odisha.
