Puri: On Saturday morning, three youths were critically injured after being attacked by a group at Bada Danda Market Chhak in Odisha's Puri town.

Sameer Das, Hrusikesh Panda, and Khageswar Sahu have been identified as the injured.

Around 6 a.m., they were having tea at the market when the incident occurred. A group of 18 teenagers arrived on motorcycles and attacked the trio with swords. The three injured people were rescued and taken to the Puri district headquarters hospital. Two of them were later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated, sources said.

A preliminary investigation linked the incident to a previous feud and a group clash over betting at the 'Khadipada Melana' event. Two people have been detained by police for questioning in this matter.

Four Jagannath Temple servants were injured a few days ago after being attacked by a group of about 15 armed miscreants.
