A school headmaster has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with several female students in a village in Odisha's Keonjhar district's Telkoi area.
Keonjhar: A school headmaster has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with several female students in a village in Odisha's Keonjhar district's Telkoi area.
According to sources, the incident occurred at Dimiria Upper Primary School in the district's Telkoi block. Narayan Senapati, the headmaster, was arrested in response to complaints from approximately 12 female students.
Senapati was accused of misbehaving with female students in Classes VII and VIII after summoning them to his office room in the school under various pretexts.
According to them, the matter came to light after some of the students told their parents about their experiences.
Parents of the offended students staged a protest at the school, demanding that the headmaster be punished.
Following notification, the additional block education officer and a police team visited the school, and the headmaster was arrested.
The headmaster, on the other hand, denied the allegations and claimed that he always treated the students as if they were his own children.
