Bhubaneswar: The much-anticipated film 'Phalguna Chaitra', directed by Sisir Kumar Sahu and Peenaki Singh Rajput, will be released in Odisha theaters on March 12.

Sisir and Peenaki's third film is a family drama, following the crime thriller 'Charitra' and the travel love story 'Daalcheeni'. The film was shot in Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Jeypore districts over the course of 25 days during the rainy season by the director duo, who are known for their original content and visual storytelling. “The story is the hero of the film which celebrate core values of a typical Odia family. "The plot revolves around an incident that occurs during the 'Phalguna Chaitra' month of the Hindu calendar, which corresponds to February/March in the Gregorian calendar," Sisir explained.

He added that they tried to keep the authenticity and freshness of the Odia culture, which people in every household would relate to, such as spending time with grandparents during vacations and eating meals together as a family.

The filmmaker also stated that it will be the first Odia film to be commercially released in Australia at three locations (Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane).
