Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, the Childline and Twin City Commissionerate Police rescued a 13-year-old girl who was apparently working as a domestic helper in a couple's house in Bhubaneswar's Prachi Vihar area of Rasulgarh.

According to authorities, the minor girl's parents authorized her to work as a domestic helper at the home of one Ashok Kumar Swain. She had been working at Swain's house for three years.

Childline officials stated that the minor girl's parents, who work as laborers in Kargil Basti, saw certain injury marks on her body.

She was produced before to the Additional CWC and relocated to a city open shelter. "A case has been registered, and further action will be taken," media quoted a Mancheswar police officer as saying.
