White tigress Rupa gives birth to 3 cubs in Nandankanan zoo

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, the white tigress Rupa gave birth to three cubs in Nandankanan Zoological Park's enclosure No. 21 after nearly ten months of gestation.
According to accounts, one of the cubs is white, while the other two are normal (red). After the birth of three cubs, the number of tigers in Nandankanan Zoo has climbed to 28.
The first cub was born at 3.25 p.m., followed by the other two at 3.33 p.m. and 5.50 p.m., respectively. Tigress Rupa was being monitored by four CCTV cameras positioned around her enclosure, according to Nandankanan Zoo's Deputy Director Sanjeet Kumar.
According to zoo officials, Rupa has also been photographed breastfeeding the three cubs in the enclosure.
Notably, Rupa the tigress became pregnant after mating with Rajesh the Royal Bengal tiger. She gave birth to the cubs 105 days after mating. Rupa, who is 4.5 years old, has become a mother for the second time.
Rupa and Rajesh lived in a safari where they mated, and Rupa became pregnant for the first time, giving birth to three cubs on March 11, 2022.
On September 22, 2018, Rajesh and Rupa gave birth to tigress Bijaya and tiger Roshan.
