Sundergarh Sarpanch Candidate Attacked, Hospitalized

Sundergarh: On Sunday, an unknown person attacked a woman candidate for panchayat samiti member from Gobindapur in Sundargarh district's Bonai block. She was reportedly badly hurt.
When the incident occurred, the victim, Puspita Jena, was returning home after campaigning. She was taken to the hospital and her condition is said to be critical.
According to accounts, she was sent to Bonai Hospital first. She was afterwards sent to the Rourkela Government Hospital.
Three men on a bike are said to have assaulted her.
The police have started their investigation.
