Shocking! Woman gang-raped in Bhubaneswar for opposing birthday celebration

Bhubaneswar: According to authorities, a woman was gang-raped by three youngsters for objecting to noisemaking during a birthday party in the Odisha capital's Dhirikuti slum on Wednesday.
The event occurred on December 11 (Sunday) and was brought to light after the woman filed a complaint on Monday, following which police arrested the three. Debashis Pradhan alias Malinga (24), Deepak Kumar Sethy (24), and Swadhin Kumar Nayak alias Sanu have been identified as the suspects (22). They are all residents of the city.
According to police sources, Deepak planned a birthday celebration for the evening of December 11th. The woman, a neighboring resident, found the noise bothersome and begged them to cease making it.
After that, the accused trio grabbed the victim and took her into the residence, where they raped her. After hearing her shouts, some neighbors came to her aid. However, before escaping, the gang threatened to kill the woman.
The following day, the woman filed a complaint with Mancheswar police, and the accused were arrested under Sections 294, 323, 354, 354 (A), 448, 376, 511, 506 and 34 of the IPC.
According to the sources, they confessed to the crime during questioning and were sent to court.
Police have initiated a manhunt to apprehend the remaining eight suspects.
