Security forces exchange fire with Maoists in Nuapada

Nuapada: In the Nuapada district of Odisha, police and security forces dismantled a Maoist camp and seized supplies used for everyday life.
Reliable sources had informed the Nuapada Police that a huge Maoist camp was located near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border in the Patdhara Reserve Forest, which is within Boden Police jurisdiction. The Maoists had gathered, according to the police's informants, to strategize against anti-security troops and engage in subversive actions.
The combined security forces of SOG, DVF, and CRPF commenced an anti-Maoist operation on Wednesday in response to the inputs. Around 10.10 am on Thursday, 60–80 armed Maoists headed by Murli alias Sangram Reddy, Debji, Jayaram alias Chhalpati, Kartik alias Dashru, Jayaram alias Guddu, Anju alias Padma, Sangita, Janila, Parvati, Soni, and others opened fire on the security troops without hesitation.
After a protracted exchange of gunfire, the Maoists fled the area as the security forces retaliated in self-defense. Later, the security staff removed a number of camp supplies from the area. Some of these items were an air rifle, a battery, a Baofeng Walkie-Talkie, four radios, a Bluetooth speaker, four solar plates, eleven knives, wire bundles, a sewing machine, Maoist uniforms, medications, pregnancy test kits, and Maoist literature.
