Dhenkanal: In the Dhenkanal district of Odisha, the Kankadahad Block Education Officer (BEO) has ordered school administrators to report any instances of media entering schools or classrooms without permission to the police.
"It is deeply regrettable that some media personnel entered a classroom and school grounds without first obtaining authorization from the relevant authorities... The BEO noted in a letter to the headmasters of UP and primary schools, "This is neither morally right or acceptable.
"The school headmaster should report to police and lodge FIR against the mediapersons immediately," he added. "If without any authority such activity is done by cameramen, mediapersons."
The action was purportedly taken in response to a recent event in which some pupils and teachers stumbled when speaking with media.
