Odisha to build 1.17 lakh more houses under PMAY by 2022
Bhubaneswar: Based on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) by 2022, the state government is aimed at completing around 1,89 lakh homes.
The categories of recipient-led construction homes (BLC), affordable housing in partnerships (AHP), in-site slum rehabilitation (ISSR) of PMAY were sanctioned, as official sources say. The categories were 1.89,639 dwellings. The remaining 1,17,629 homes will be built by 2022, while 72,010 have been completed.
Approximately 1,55 of the PMAY homes in BLC mode, 15,000 in AHP mode and the remaining in ISSR mode will be built.
A meeting of Axis Bank and other partners has already been organised in this respect by the Odisha urban housing mission (OUHM) and it aims to cable loans in other banks to Bleu recipients shortly.
"We also asked banks to give loans to developers for the building of AHP and ISSR PMAY dwellings," said TNIE, quoting an OUHM official.
He also claimed that the houses have been built in BLC manner until now. They have given loans for the building of dwellings on at least 30 square metres of land to its recipients.
TNIE, reported as Manoranjan Mohanty, assistant vice president of the government business bank Manoranjan said that OUHM and Axis Bank had already held a combined workshop under the "Awas Par Samvaad" initiative to foster financial integration of beneficiaries and social mobilisation to execute PMAY.
