Minor Girl Brutally Beaten Up By Employer Rescued In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A 13-year-old girl who was allegedly being physically tortured at a Bhubaneswar home where she was employed as a domestic helper was rescued on Monday.
In Satya Enclave in the Mancheswar neighbourhood of the state capital, a couple named Rashmi Ranjan Jena and Pratima Jena employed the little girl as a domestic helper, according to sources.
The Childline, a labour officer, and the police all worked together to rescue the girl, who had burns on her arm.
According to the girl's confession, she was a Class VI student at her village school in the Kendrapara area in February 2022 when she was trafficked by a man named Ananta Jena, the father of Pratima Jena.
After that, an employee with Childline stated that she had been hired as a domestic helper at Pratima Jena's home eight months prior.
The young girl claimed that her employer had physically abused her for being careless at work. She may have been brandished with a hot iron instrument, based on the burn marks on her body.
The victim was brought by the Childline to the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) after being saved.
According to sources, the labour officer will file a labour case, while Childline will submit a criminal complaint at the Mancheswar police station.
