Journalist is killed after a former Sarpanch's car collides with two people

Angul: On Sunday, a vehicle belonging to former sarpanch Namita Pradhan, who is alleged to be linked with the ruling BJD, crushed two people beneath his wheels, killing one of them in Odisha's Angul district, a day after two violent events.
However, it is still unknown who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
According to sources, a speeding car travelling from Kaniha to Bajrakot collided with two people who were standing along the road. The event left both of them critically injured, and they were transported to the district headquarters hospital. One of them died in the hospital while seeking treatment.
Sushant Dhal, a journalist, has been named as the victim. Sarat Jena, the second person, is still in the hospital for treatment.
Following the event, the car's driver managed to depart while enraged villagers vandalised and set fire to it. They also organised a road roadblock in Bajrakot, demanding that the perpetrators be arrested immediately and that the slain journalist be compensated.
When police were alerted, they hurried to the scene to calm the angry crowd. An investigation has been launched after a case was filed.
