Bhubaneswar: During the previous 24 hours, four people are said to have perished and two more have been injured in lightning strikes across Odisha.
According to sources, lightning struck Pansadiha in Anandpur, Keonjhar district early Sunday morning, killing one person and injuring two others. The critically injured have been taken to a Thakurmunda hospital. Another individual was killed in a lightning strike on a jetty in Chilika block's Nairi hamlet.
Budhu Kisan, 23, killed in a lightning strike in the Kalosihiria region of the Kuanrmunda police outpost in Sundargarh district on Saturday while coming from a nearby market. In the Kadapani region of Nuagaon block, a 60-year-old man died after being struck by lightning while returning home after gathering vegetables from his farmland. The deceased, identified as Baju Ganju, was a resident of Nuagaon block's Lukumbeda village.
