Congress Begins 10-Day ‘Fuel Protest’, declares bandh on July 15
Bhubaneswar: While the Odisha unit of the Congress initiated a 10-day statewide "fuel protest" on Wednesday, the Left parties declared a 6-hour Odisha Bandh on July 15 in protest of rising gasoline, diesel, and other critical commodities costs.
The Odisha Bandh will be observed from 6 am to 12 noon.
Meanwhile, the workers of the grand old party are holding demonstrations at all block offices. Similar protests will be held at the sub-division level on July 9, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC)president Niranjan Patnaik on told media on Monday.
Cuttack District Congress Committee President Manas Choudhury also supported the whole protest and said," This fight is for people's rights, this fight is against the Modi government's mindful rule ′′.
"Center's anti people policy has caused a rise in petrol prices which has also led to soaring prices of other household items. If the country has to be saved from inflation then Modi government should be removed from its post", he added. As per information, the protest took place at various places under the leadership of Choudhary.
On July 14, a signature campaign would be organised in Bhubaneswar, and on July 17, another will be staged in front of all filling stations, he added.
As a protest, the Congress party has advised consumers not to buy gasoline, diesel, or gas on July 15.
