BEO & 17 Teachers Under Scanner For Fake Caste Certificate in Jajpur
Jajpur: A total of 17 teachers and a Block Education Officer (BEO) have been charged for falsifying caste certificates in order to gain employment in the area.
According to sources, the district administration has presented to the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner a list of 18 people who have been appointed to government positions after presenting bogus caste certificates. Their documents are being verified, according to the sources.
All of the individuals are Asanajhar panchayat residents of Koeri block. Their identities were revealed after the RDC ordered a thorough inquiry into a case involving a man and his sister, both of whom worked as teachers in the district.
The two people were identified as Manas Nayak, a Pachhikot High School teacher, and his sister Jyotsna Nayak, a UP School teacher in Tarapada in Korei block. The district government had initiated a probe after they were accused of receiving an appointment after presenting a forged caste certificate.
They were suspended from service on the RDC's direction after the investigation validated the charge. The RDC had ordered a thorough inquiry in order to uncover the racket.
