Berhampur: Narmada Behere breathed a sigh of relief after recovering her jewellery, which she had abandoned in an autorickshaw a few days ago while travelling from New Bus Stand to Gopalpur in Odisha's Ganjam district.

"I've been having trouble sleeping for the past few days. "I am overjoyed and grateful to the autorickshaw driver," she expressed her gratitude.

The officer-in-charge of the police outpost, Narayan Swain, praised the driver, Pankaj Behera, for his honesty.

The female passenger, according to sources, called the autorickshaw driver she knew when she realised the jewellery was missing from her purse after arriving home on Wednesday. He looked through the truck but found nothing that day.

The following day, when cleaning his car, the 35-year-old autorickshaw driver discovered the 30 gramme ornament underneath the passenger seat and quickly contacted the police and the passenger's family.
