Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) dog squad raided a dog breeder's premises on Thursday and rescued 40 canines of foreign breeds.
According to sources, the individual had been trading in dogs for a long time and had kept them in a house illegally built on government land in the city of Laxmisagar. He was served with a notice to quit the property.
He was raided because he did not react to the notice. The BDA authorities also arrived at the location where the dog breeder would be evicted.
According to the reports, the dogs have been relocated to a separate location.
