11 more students test positive for Covid-19 at VIMSAR
Sambalpur: COVID-19 was found in 11 more people, including 10 MBBS students and a laboratory attendant, bringing the total number of people infected with the virus to 74 at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, Odisha's Sambalpur district. There were a total of 120 samples turned in for testing.
The authorities at VIMSAR have already begun tracing affected people in the hopes of catching future cases.
For the contact tracing operation, the authorities organised a four-person squad. All of the campus's hostels were being sanitised as a precaution.
VIMSAR's Sabitri Girls Hostel, Charak Hostel, Gargi Girls Hostel, Bhrugu Hostel, and Patanjali Hostel have been named Micro Containment Zones by the district administration.
The Buffer Zone also includes VIMSAR's Staff Quarters, Atreya Hostel, Biswamitra Hostel, Apala Girls Hostel, and Markandeya Hostel.
