Two die of asphyxiation after inhaling generator fumes
Two people, including a 12-year-old girl, died and another was critically injured in a village in Odisha's Gajapati district, allegedly as a result of asphyxiation caused by smoke from a power generator.

Paralakhemundi: Two people, including a 12-year-old girl, died and another was critically injured in a village in Odisha's Gajapati district, allegedly as a result of asphyxiation caused by smoke from a power generator.
The incident occurred in Betarasing village, which is under the jurisdiction of the district's RUdayagiri police station. Ganesh Nayak (20) and Ambika Nayak (20) were identified as the deceased (12).
According to sources, the victims were sleeping in a house following a wedding reception with a generator running outside their room. When they did not wake up on Saturday morning despite repeated attempts, family members took them to a hospital in Chandragiri, where doctors declared Ganesh and Ambika dead.
Jhumuri Nayak (7), another girl, was in critical condition and is receiving treatment.
According to sources, the mishap was caused by smoke emitted by the generator.
A team from the Chandragiri police outpost has rushed to the scene to investigate the incident. More information is awaited.
