Bahubali Neta of western Odisha behind Minister Naba Das murder: Tara Bahinipati
Even as the Crime Branch investigates the murder of Minister Naba Das, senior Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati claimed on Wednesday that an influential (bahubali) leader in western Odisha is behind the mysterious killing.

Bhubaneswar: Even as the Crime Branch investigates the murder of Minister Naba Das, senior Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati claimed on Wednesday that an influential (bahubali) leader in western Odisha is behind the mysterious killing.
The outspoken leader's latest claim comes a day after a BJP stalwart and Opposition Leader pointed accusing fingers at an IAS officer and a ruling BJD legislator and demanded verification of their phone calls.
"It is suspected that a 'bahubali neta (influential leader) from western Odisha is involved in the murder of Naba Das. "It's being discussed," the legislator told reporters.
Bahinipati demanded that the slain leader be brought under the purview of the investigation into the sensational murder being carried out by the Crime Branch, claiming that the slain leader had once told him that he was not on good terms with the leader in question.
"The role of the leader from western Odisha must be investigated to get to the bottom of the crime," he said, claiming that the leader has been operating behind the scenes and should be brought to light.
Bahinipati slammed the state government over the investigation into the Minister's murder, saying it appears efforts are being made to declare accused policeman Gopal Das insane, and the government should make its position clear.
As the Crime Branch of Odisha police is still unable to determine the exact reason for the killing, Congress has demanded an investigation into the murder by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), according to the senior leader.
In a similar vein, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Narasingha Mishra claimed that Naba Das's murder was a pre-planned crime. However, the state government is unwilling to investigate the crime's underlying conspiracy.
