In a shocking incident, a man died in Ambapal village in Odisha's Angul district after allegedly being given a poisonous injection while sleeping by unidentified miscreants.
Angul: In a shocking incident, a man died in Ambapal village in Odisha's Angul district after allegedly being given a poisonous injection while sleeping by unidentified miscreants.
Balkkrushna Nayak, the head of the Ambapala village committee, was identified as the deceased. He was suspected of being murdered because of a previous feud.
Balkrushna was sleeping in his poultry farm, a few yards away from his house, on Saturday night when some unidentified people went there, according to sources. They allegedly injected him with poison and fled the scene.
He rushed out of his farm to his house later, groaning in pain. He informed his family about the incident. He passed out and was rushed to Angul's district headquarters hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to a hospital in Cuttack, but he died on the way.
His family members discovered a letter from the poultry farm with a warning note. According to the letter, the village head had previously been warned about something, but he ignored the warning.
Following a complaint from his family, police launched an investigation and seized two syringes from the crime scene, according to the sources.
