Woman Allegedly Murders Husband, Elopes With Lover On Cremation Day

Kendrapada: While the funeral pyre was still burning at the cremation site in Bhamanda village, Rajkanika police limits in Odisha's Kendrapada district, a woman allegedly killed her husband and left the village with her boyfriend.

On social media, a similar video has gained a lot of traction.

Priest Rangadhar Das has been named as the decedent.

Sources claim that the accused woman, Ratnamani, has been having an unlawful connection with a villager named Baina Satpathy for the past four years. He used to frequently drop by her residence as well. Asit and Ratnamani allegedly threatened to harm her children's father after she told her kids about their relationship.

"My father and I tried to stop my mother when we found out about her affair, but she beat us. Baina and my mother planned to have my father killed. When my father's funeral pyre was still burning, they fled, Ratnamani's son told the reporters.

On August 17, when Ranghadhar was departing for the temple, the neighbourhood watched as Ratnamani and Ranghadhar got into a furious quarrel. Rangadhar then vanished after this.

His brother Gangadhar filed a report at the Rajkanika police station over this. After five days, Rangadhar's dismembered body was discovered close to the Similimahara canal. Later, the police reported an unnatural death.

After we obtain the postmortem report, we will begin a more thorough investigation, according to Rajkanika police station's IIC.
