Baripada: On Wednesday morning, an onion-laden truck crashed 100 feet down a canyon on NH-49 near Bangiriposhi in Odisha's Mayurbhanj, killing two people and injuring another.

Yunus, a truck driver, and his companion Jawal have been identified as the victims. Wasim, the truck's assistant, was critically injured when he got off the vehicle as it was falling. They are from Malkapur, Maharashtra.

According to accounts, the accident occurred when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle near Bangiriposhi Ghat while driving from Nashik to West Bengal.

Locals and firefighters arrived to the scene after being alerted, and all three people were saved. Yunus and Jawal were taken to a hospital in Bangiriposhi, where doctors proclaimed them dead.
