Bhubaneswar: The Ollywood hero's father and veteran actor Uttam Mohanty has defended his daughter-in-law in a new twist to the Babushaan-Prakruti-Trupti episode on Saturday.
Speaking to the media about the widely circulated video showing actor Babushaan and actress Prakruti being attacked by the former's wife Trupti, Uttam claimed to be aware of his son's relationship with the latter. In order to keep the peace in his family, he also claimed to have advised Babushaan to break off his relationship with her.
"I have made numerous attempts to get Babushaan to break off contact with Prakruti. However, he informed me that Prakruti would go to Mumbai while he would continue to work in the film industry, he claimed.
Uttam remarked on Babushaan and Trupti's relationship, "They love each other a lot. They might disagree at times, just like any other relationship.
The senior actor said that Trupti had no connection to acting and claimed that she disliked romance scenes in movies. He said, "She might have some evidence of Babushaan's relationship with Prakruti.
Babushaan's wife Trupti can be seen stopping a car in the social media footage that has gone viral, in which her husband is driving and Prakruti is seated next to him. Actor and actress are seen being roughed up by an enraged Trupti, who is also seen yanking Prakruti's hair and even chasing her.
On the basis of the accusations made by Trupti and Prakruti's mother at the Kharavela Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar, separate cases have been opened. Trupti is one of the four people whose statements have been recorded by the police.
