Man kills tantrik after rituals fail to bring wife back in Odisha

Jajpur: According to reports, a 40-year-old man killed a tantric in a village in the Jajpur district of Odisha after the dead allegedly failed to bring the man's divorced wife back as promised.
According to authorities, the accused, Santanu Behera, asked the tantrik's assistance to get his wife, who had been living with their two children at her parents' house for the previous few months after their relationship soured, to come back.
According to them, Behera, a Bandhagaon resident who is subject to the Sukinda Police Station's jurisdiction, gave tantric Mania Babar Rs 5,000 in exchange for his pledge to return the woman.
After the tantrik failed to complete the work, an argument broke out when he went to Behera's home on Friday. The accused sought his money back. Behera assaulted Babar with a sharp object in a moment of wrath, killing the tantric instantly. Later, he turned himself in to police along with the stolen weapon.
According to sources, the deceased was a nomad who was originally from Maharashtra and was residing in the region with his wife in a leased home.
