3 Killed As Truck Mangles Auto-Rickshaw In Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapada: Three people were killed in a head-on accident between an auto-rickshaw and a truck late Thursday night in Odisha's Kendrapada district.

According to reports, Asish Beuria of Jamudanda in the district's Aali police limits was driving an auto-rickshaw to a petrol pump in the middle of the night to buy fuel from Kendrapada town. A truck traveling from the opposite way collided with the auto-rickshaw as they approached Jamadhara Chhak under Sadar police jurisdiction.

The three-wheeler was pulled for a long distance after the crash. The truck driver, however, did not stop and fled. Locals raced to the scene and attempted to rescue the three passengers inside the auto-rickshaw. However, Asish, his friend and the auto-rickshaw driver, had dead by the time they arrived.

When the police were informed, they went to the scene and recovered the remains. They opened a case and sent the bodies for autopsies. According to police sources, a manhunt has been initiated to find the truck driver.
