"Kandhamal Police Arrest Girl and Boyfriend for Deadly Acid Attack on Her Father and Brother."

The Balliguda police arrested a girl for her involvement in an acid attack on her father and brother in Kundeli village under Tumudibandh police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district. The victims are Mohan Pandar and his son, Anuj Pandar. The girl, Puspanjali Pandar, allegedly carried out the attack with her boyfriend, Bijya Majhi. Puspanjali and Bijya had been in a relationship, but Mohan did not approve of it. Bijya believed that Mohan was responsible for his mother’s recent death due to black magic, leading them to plan the attack as an act of revenge.
Bijya brought acid from Kolkata and gave it to Puspanjali. According to their plan, she poured acid on her sleeping father and her brother, Anuj. After an investigation, the police arrested Puspanjali and Bijya on Sunday. Kamal Kumar Panda, the sub-divisional police officer of Balliguda, confirmed that the accused have confessed to their crime. "Puspanjali and Bijya were planning to attack Mohan Pandar, and both have confessed to their crime. We have arrested them in connection with this incident and seized the remaining acid from Puspanjali," said SDPO Kamal Kumar Panda. Meanwhile, Mohan and Anuj have been admitted to Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition.
